Shooting sports takes hair-trigger timing, and a sense for the decisive moment when the action is at its peak, capturing the spirit of competition that is the essence of the game. To do this you need to know the sport, the players, and you need the right equipment to get the job done.

Kyle's experience in sports photography started in 2003, when he began working as the action photographer for the University of Guelph's Guelph Gryphons, covering all varsity sports.

He soon began freelancing for newspapers like the Guelph Mercury, The Guelph Tribune, The Hamilton Spectator, and the Kingston Whig-Standard, developing his ability to generate a high percentage of publishable images in as little as a few minutes of game action.  This skill is crucial covering amateur and youth sports.

Kyle works with specialized fast lenses capable of stopping the action in low light situations like high school gyms and hockey rinks, to get that professional, up close look, impossible with consumer setups.  Portable strobes are also available when some extra punch is required to freeze the action in darker arenas, or to create a properly lit team photo.

Artifacts for Life provides full tournament coverage with on-site proofing and printing services, with action photos displayed on multiple LCD screens immediately following each game, and prints as large as 8x10 provided within minutes.
